Senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi is undergoing treatment at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) in Lahore, hospital sources said on Saturday.

Qureshi has been diagnosed with gallstones and is currently receiving medical care.

A series of tests, including blood, cardiac, and gastrointestinal examinations, has been conducted, while a CT scan of the gallbladder has also been completed, the sources added.

The decision regarding surgery will be made after the test reports are received.

A multidisciplinary medical committee, headed by Dr Faisal Dar and comprising specialists from cardiology, gastroenterology, anesthesiology, and urology, will determine the next course of action.

For now, Qureshi has been placed on a routine diet and advised to avoid oily food.

He has been under treatment at PKLI since October 26, the hospital sources added.
