Opposition-led move calls for cancellation of e-challan notification

The Karachi City Council has approved a resolution against the newly introduced e-challan system.

The resolution, submitted by Opposition Leader Saeeduddin advocate, was passed unanimously during a meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad.

According to a statement issued by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), members of Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Pakistan Peoples Party also voted in favour.

Saeeduddin advocate highlighted the city’s deteriorating road infrastructure and raised concerns over discriminatory fines, urging that the e-challan notification be cancelled until cameras can effectively manage crime rates.
