Army committed to defending homeland, ready to respond firmly to any aggression: DG ISPR
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Friday said Pakistan had taken effective measures against terrorism and Fitna al-Khawarij, reaffirming that the armed forces were fully committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Speaking at an interactive session with teachers and students from various universities in Abbottabad, Lt Gen Chaudhry discussed the prevailing Pakistan-Afghanistan border tensions, internal security situation, and what he described as the ongoing “Marka-e-Haq”.
He said the Pakistan Army remained steadfast in its mission to safeguard the nation and would deliver a “strong and severe response” to any form of external aggression.
Teachers and students attending the session paid rich tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the armed forces.
Vice Chancellor of Hazara University Dr Ikramullah Khan said the Pakistan Army was “the true symbol of patriotism,” adding that the armed forces had always stood on the frontlines while the nation stood firmly behind them.
Faculty members voiced concern over the growing efforts by hostile elements to misguide the youth through misinformation. They emphasised the need to provide students with verified and factual information to counter false narratives.
Students said they were proud to belong to a country whose armed forces continued to inspire and guide the younger generation.
They added that the DG ISPR’s detailed responses had helped dispel misconceptions about national and provincial matters, as well as the role of the military in safeguarding Pakistan’s stability.
