PM Shehbaz invited to attend WEF’s annual meeting in Davos
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met World Economic Forum (WEF) President and Chief Executive Officer Borge Brende in Riyadh on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII).
The meeting took place at the request of the WEF leadership to formally invite the prime minister to attend the Forum’s Annual Meeting scheduled to be held in Davos in January next year.
Accepting the invitation, PM Shehbaz expressed his intent to participate in the high-level event and underscored Pakistan’s commitment to global economic dialogue and cooperation.
He said the government’s focus remains on promoting exports, encouraging public-private partnerships, harnessing the potential of the country’s youth, and advancing the information technology sector.
Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic position, the prime minister said the country serves as a vital bridge connecting South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, offering immense potential for regional trade and connectivity.
WEF President Brende thanked the prime minister for Pakistan’s active engagement with the Forum and expressed optimism about continued collaboration.
He reaffirmed WEF’s commitment to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership with Pakistan to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
