FIA arrests NCCIA additional director, five others over bribery and abuse of power
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Additional Director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Chaudhry Sarfraz, along with five other officials in Lahore on charges of corruption and misuse of authority.
According to FIA officials, the arrested officers include NCCIA Lahore In-charge Zawar, Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz, Ali Raza, Mujtaba, and Yasir Gujjar.
The arrests were made during an FIA operation in Lahore following allegations of bribery and abuse of official powers.
All six accused are scheduled to be produced before the Lahore District Court today (Tuesday).
The detained officers have appointed senior lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq as their legal counsel, who will represent them in court.
The FIA has intensified its internal accountability drive to curb corruption within specialised wings, particularly those handling sensitive investigations such as cybercrime.
