A bomb attack targeting the vehicle of Kech Deputy Commissioner Bashir Ahmad Barech on Monday left eight people injured, including six Levies personnel. The DC remained unharmed in the incident.

According to officials, unidentified assailants planted a remote-controlled explosive device on a motorcycle parked along the road in Kech.

The explosion occurred as Deputy Commissioner Bashir Barech’s convoy was passing by on its way to his office.

The blast destroyed a secondary vehicle in the convoy, injuring seven Levies personnel and a passerby.

The wounded were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kech for medical treatment.

Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators.
