Security forces foiled a major terrorist plot in North Waziristan, killing three Indian-sponsored militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted in the Jhallar area following credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, an Indian-backed proxy network.

During the operation, security forces effectively targeted the hideout, destroying a vehicle that was being prepared for a suicide attack. Three terrorists were eliminated in the ensuing exchange of fire.

The ISPR said the slain militants were involved in multiple attacks targeting both security personnel and civilians in the region.

A clearance operation was later launched to eliminate any remaining threat in the surrounding area.

The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces, under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” remain resolute in their efforts to root out the menace of terrorism from the country.
