Punjab CM Maryam orders swift launch of ‘Air Punjab’ project
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to make Air Punjab operational at the earliest, ordering the acquisition of modern and comfortable aircraft on lease for the provincial airline.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review progress on the Air Punjab project, the chief minister instructed officials to immediately complete Phase One of the initiative and ensure that all operational requirements are finalised without delay.
The meeting also reached an understanding on launching the airline’s first flight route between Lahore and Islamabad. Officials briefed the chief minister on various aspects of the project, including procurement, infrastructure, and logistics.
During the session, the Murree Glass Train Project also came under discussion, with CM Maryam directing early steps for its execution.
Meanwhile, the chief minister expressed deep sorrow over the loss of nine lives in separate road accidents in Gujranwala and Kamalia, extending sympathies to the bereaved families.
