CM Sohail Afridi expected to meet PTI founder today, cabinet formation under discussion

Two advisers, seven ministers expected in new cabinet; former ministers still holding official perks and residences

Consultations are underway for the formation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, with Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expected to meet the PTI founder Imran Khan on Thursday, official sources said.

According to the sources, the PTI founder is likely to finalise and hand over the names of cabinet members to the chief minister during the meeting.

However, if the meeting does not take place, the cabinet notification is expected to be issued on Thursday.

The proposed cabinet is likely to include two advisers and seven ministers.

Muzammil Aslam and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif are expected to be appointed as advisers, while the ministerial list includes Adnan Qadri, Mian Khaleequr Rehman, Fazal Shakoor, Meena Khan, Arshad Ayub, Aftab Alam, and Fakhar Jahan.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that members of the dissolved cabinet continue to perform their duties and issue directives to the bureaucracy.

Many former ministers have not yet vacated official residences or returned government vehicles, and continue to enjoy official privileges despite the cabinet’s dissolution.
