Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said that the provincial cabinet’s decision regarding a ban on an extremist religious outfit has been forwarded to the federal government, expressing hope that a ban will be imposed within the next few days.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday, Bokhari said that the religious outfit’s chief Saad Rizvi and his brother were being traced and would soon be brought under the law.

She clarified that no grave was being relocated; however, no one will be allowed to use the site for fundraising or to incite unrest.

The minister revealed that 38 financiers of terrorist organisations have been identified, and all related bank accounts have been frozen.

She warned that those providing financial assistance to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) will face terrorism charges.

Bokhari urged parents to stop their children from becoming part of any such violent or disruptive activities.

She further said that no mosque is being demolished, and strict legal action will be taken against those who take the law into their own hands.

The minister also announced the establishment of 33 mobile police stations across Punjab, including seven pink mobile stations dedicated to registering women’s complaints.
