Punjab CM distributes flood relief cheques in Dipalpur
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Dipalpur on Monday to meet flood-affected residents and oversee the distribution of relief cheques under the provincial flood rehabilitation programme, accompanied by Senior Minister Marium Aurangzeb.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected counter booths set up for disbursement and inquired about the needs of affected families.
Director-General Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirmed that all 500 registered flood-affected families in Dipalpur were being assisted, with payments expected to be completed within 25 to 30 days. Surveys to assess damages in affected areas are ongoing.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the financial relief package, noting that Rs100 billion has been allocated for flood-affected families.
Immediate cash of Rs50,000 is being distributed at counter booths, while families whose homes were destroyed and the next of kin of deceased victims will receive Rs1 million each.
She added that 71,000 bank accounts have been opened to ensure direct and timely aid.
The Chief Minister emphasised that all relief efforts are being carried out with transparency and accountability, ensuring that every affected individual receives the help they need.
