Sohail Afridi vows full support to Pakistan Army against any aggression
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has reaffirmed his government’s full support to the Pakistan Army, declaring that any act of aggression against the country, including from Afghanistan, will be met with a firm response.
Speaking informally to reporters in Peshawar, CM Afridi said that peace in the region cannot be achieved without taking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into confidence.
He stressed that the province must be consulted in all matters related to Afghanistan and national security.
The chief minister said that if he is unable to meet the party founder soon, he will form his cabinet after consultation with senior party members.
He added that the current chief secretary and inspector general of police would continue in their positions for now.
CM Afridi also revealed that he had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan seeking permission for a meeting with the party founder and that his legal team would refile a petition in the Islamabad High Court after addressing technical objections.
“If we are not given access, we will resist,” the chief minister cautioned, adding that his focus remains on law and order, development projects, and good governance.
