Sindh Government launches Benazir Haari card programme
The Sindh government has launched the Benazir Haari Card program to support farmers and boost wheat production, providing financial assistance and fertilisers across the province.
The program aims to enhance wheat production, ensure self-sufficiency, and encourage agricultural prosperity in Sindh.
The Sindh government is set to spend Rs55.9 billion on farmers under the Benazir Haari Card program, said Sharjeel Memon.
Initially, 400,000 farmers will be included in the program. In the first phase, financial assistance will be provided for 2.26 million acres of land, Sharjeel Memon added.
By the last week of this month, an additional 50,000 cards will be issued.
According to the Senior Minister, the registration process for the Haari Card has already started.
Farmers who already possess a card are urged to complete their registration immediately, while those without a card can register by presenting their CNIC and land records, Memon stated.
The program will ensure complete transparency through biometric verification, and land checks will also be conducted through a digital system, said Memon.
Priority will be given to farmers who own 1 to 25 acres of land.
Under the program, each farmer will receive one bag of DAP fertiliser and two bags of urea.
“The Sindh government is fully supporting farmers, and increased wheat production will lead to prosperity and self-sufficiency,” Sharjeel Memon said.
In the next phase, millions more farmers will be provided with Benazir Haari Cards.
