PM assures Bilawal of addressing PPP’s concerns, vows stronger coalition
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the government would address the PPP’s concerns, emphasising the need for unity and coordination to ensure political stability.
The assurance came during a meeting between the two leaders at the Prime Minister House on Thursday.
The meeting, which lasted for over an hour, discussed the country’s overall political and security situation, as well as matters related to coalition cooperation.
According to sources, both parties agreed to continue working together and refrain from making public statements against each other.
The PPP delegation expressed reservations over the Punjab government’s policies, local government legislation, and the lack of consultation by the PML-N.
PPP delegation meets Ishaq Dar
Earlier, the PPP team met Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they raised similar concerns about the stalled progress on the Punjab power-sharing formula.
Ishaq Dar assured them that the issues would be presented to the leadership for resolution.
The PPP delegation included Nayar Bukhari, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Sherry Rehman, while the PML-N side was represented by Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Malik Ahmad Khan, and Ahad Cheema.
