CJCSC reaffirms Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace through dialogue

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), reaffirmed Pakistan’s active role in promoting regional peace and stability while maintaining a balance between the Global North and Global South through dialogue, dignity, and principled diplomacy.

He made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the “Islamabad Symposium 2025” as the Chief Guest, organised by the NIPS at NUST.

The Chairman JCSC expressed gratitude to all speakers and panellists for their valuable insights and highlighted the evolving global and regional environment.

Emphasising the need to replace confrontation with cooperation, General Mirza said Pakistan remains guided by a vision of coexistence based on mutual respect and international law.

The CJCSC reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just and peaceful resolution of longstanding disputes, including Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir.

He added that, standing at the crossroads of regions and civilisations, Pakistan continues to uphold restraint and constructive engagement, seeking to bridge divides and foster a balanced global order built on justice, equity, and mutual respect.

The event was attended by members of academia, senior bureaucrats, foreign ambassadors, business representatives, and students and faculty from leading universities.
