PM Shehbaz orders transparency, timely completion of Jinnah Medical Complex

PM stresses transparency and adherence to deadlines

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the relevant authorities to ensure complete transparency and strict adherence to the established timelines at every stage of the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC).

Presiding over a meeting on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre, the prime minister said the facility would serve as a state-of-the-art hospital providing world-class healthcare services to the public.

During the briefing, the prime minister was informed that the design consultant for the project has been selected, while the contracting process with the Pakistan Engineering Council is currently underway.

The meeting was also informed that advertisements for the selection of experts for third-party validation would be issued soon.

Additionally, the federal cabinet has already approved the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the complex.

It was further informed that the geotechnical study of the project has been completed, and the hydrology and seismic studies are expected to be finalised by next month.

The prime minister briefed participants on the outcomes of his latest visit to Egypt. The participants commended his diplomatic efforts, noting that Pakistan’s position at the summit was strengthened through his personal engagement and leadership.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, and other senior officials.
