Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders is ‘bedrock’ of Pakistan Middle East Policy: PM
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared his reflections on the “potentially transformational” developments as he took his X (Former Twitter) handle, while boarding the plane to return home after the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
Shehbaz Sharif underlined that the “most important” priority for Pakistan was the “immediate cessation of the genocidal campaign imposed on Gaza.” He also commended the efforts made by other brotherly nations to advance this objective through consistent pronouncing and indication at every platform.
He extended his gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his promising efforts to ‘make it stop’.
“We will continue to express our admiration for President Trump’s unique contribution to peace,” said the prime minister.
Shehbaz Sharif elucidated Pakistan’s primary concern: “The Palestinian people’s freedom, dignity and prosperity.”
In his momentous proclamation, Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s ambition to support “the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders and Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.”
According to the Prime Minister, the determination “remains the bedrock of Pakistan’s Middle East policy and will remain so.”
With this statement, he disparaged all the claims of compromising Pakistan’s long-standing resolve for a Palestinian state.
