Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has returned former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation, raising objections over its authenticity.

A letter issued by the governor stated that the two resignation letters submitted under Ali Amin Gandapur’s name bore different and inconsistent signatures, making verification necessary.

For this purpose, the governor summoned Ali Amin Gandapur to the Governor’s House at 3pm on October 15.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated that a formal verification of the resignation letter is essential to ensure transparency in the constitutional and democratic process of the province.

However, in his response on social media, Ali Amin Gandapur asserted that both resignation letters carried his genuine signature.

According to Gandapur, he had submitted his resignations on October 8 and October 11, both bearing his own signature.

He stated that his October 8 resignation was initially not accepted, but is now being acknowledged as valid.

Responding to the governor’s post, he also shared copies of both resignation letters on social media.

Meanwhile, preparations for the election of a new Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are underway.

However, following the Governor’s objection to Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation letters, concerns have emerged that the election might be postponed.

PTI’s provincial president Junaid Akbar, accompanied by a party delegation, met with Federal Minister Amir Muqam to seek his cooperation in the Chief Minister’s election.

Later, the PTI delegation also met ANP leaders at Bacha Khan Markaz. ANP leadership made it clear that their party would not become part of any unconstitutional or undemocratic move.

During a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in Islamabad, the PTI delegation stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always upheld democratic traditions.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi assured the delegation that the approval of Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation would be carried out strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
