Gandapur attends funeral prayers for D.I. Khan police martyrs
Funeral prayers for the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the police training school were offered at the D.I. Khan Police Lines on Saturday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, GOC, Commissioner, DIG, and senior civil and military officials attended the funeral.
Chief Minister Gandapur announced Rs10 million each for the families of the martyred police personnel, in addition to the official martyrs’ package, and Rs5 million each for the injured officers.
Gandapur also declared cash rewards of Rs1 million each for the personnel and officers who displayed exceptional bravery during the operation.
Paying tribute to the martyrs, Gandapur said the sacrifices of the police are unforgettable.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have always set an example of courage and sacrifice,” he remarked.
He saluted the determination of the police and security forces in the fight against terrorism, reaffirming that maintaining peace and security remains the government’s top priority.
Gandapur said the provincial government had pursued dialogue and consensus at all levels to ensure peace and had taken practical steps to root out terrorism.
He added that strengthening the police force, providing modern resources, and introducing special packages for the families of martyrs were among his government’s key initiatives.
“The bravery and sacrifices of our police personnel will always remain a source of pride for the province,” he said.
