Bomb blast damages railway track near Dera Murad Jamali

Explosion partially destroys bridge and track; gatekeeper missing as security forces launch investigation

A powerful bomb explosion occurred near the Pat Feeder Bridge railway crossing in Dera Murad Jamali on Thursday, partially damaging the track and bridge, police said.

According to police sources, around five to six kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast, which destroyed nearly 12 feet of railway track and several sleepers.

The explosion took place shortly after a pilot engine had crossed the bridge, preventing a potential tragedy.

Following the blast, police recovered human flesh from the site, which has been sent for forensic examination.

The gatekeeper stationed at Railway Crossing No. 10 has gone missing, and a search operation has been launched to locate him.

Police, security forces, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) teams reached the site soon after the incident, cordoned off the area, and began collecting evidence.

Train services were suspended following the explosion, while the Jaffar Express was stopped at Dera Allah Yar Station as a precaution.

Law enforcement agencies have initiated a thorough investigation and are examining all possible aspects of the attack.
