Dengue cases surge across Punjab; 35 new infections reported in 24 hours
Dengue cases continue to rise across Punjab as 35 new infections were confirmed during the past 24 hours, according to health authorities on Tuesday.
Seventeen of the new patients were reported from Rawalpindi, nine from Lahore, while Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Jhang, and Sahiwal each recorded one case.
One case was also confirmed in each of the districts of Layyah, Rahim Yar Khan, Murree, and Pakpattan.
Official data shows that so far this year, 318 people have been infected in Lahore, 832 in Rawalpindi, and 116 in Murree. The total number of dengue cases across Punjab has reached 1,762.
Health officials have urged citizens to take preventive measures, including removing stagnant water, covering water containers, and avoiding mosquito breeding sites, especially during the ongoing post-monsoon period.
