PTI member Sanam Javed allegedly abducted by unknown men in Peshawar
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member and social media activist Sanam Javed has reportedly been abducted by unidentified individuals near Civil Officers Colony in Peshawar, according to local police.
An FIR has been registered at the East Police Station, naming unknown persons as the suspects in the case. Sanam Javed was returning from a hotel along with her associate, Advocate Hira Babar, when she was taken away.
According to the contents of the FIR, Hira Babar stated that the two were on their way back from dinner when their vehicle was intercepted by unknown men who forcibly took Sanam Javed away.
“Sanam had invited me for dinner. We were returning from the hotel when suddenly some individuals stopped our vehicle and forcefully took Sanam with them,” Hira Babar told police in her statement. She further alleged that security personnel present at the scene did not intervene and remained silent observers.
Following the incident, police launched a search operation in the area and set up checkpoints. However, Sanam Javed has not yet recovered.
A spokesperson for Peshawar police stated that an investigation is underway and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being collected to help identify the perpetrators.
