Sudden cold spell grips Quetta and northern Balochistan
A sudden spell of cold weather accompanied by dust-laden winds has gripped Quetta and the northern parts of Balochistan, bringing an early chill to the region.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in Quetta dropped to 7°C on Sunday night and hovered around 16°C on Monday morning, with forecasts predicting a further drop in temperature over the next two days.
Districts including Pishin, Ziarat, Khnuzai, and Kan Mehtarzai have also been affected by the cold snap and strong dusty winds, which have disrupted road traffic and caused difficulties for pedestrians and motorcyclists.
Residents of Quetta are also facing low gas pressure and unannounced power outages, adding to the challenges brought on by the sudden cold.
The Met Office has advised citizens to brace for cooler conditions as the cold front continues to intensify across northern Balochistan.
