Ishaq Dar, Egyptian FM discuss Gaza crisis; agree to push for lasting ceasefire

Both ministers reaffirm support for diplomatic efforts aimed at halting bloodshed and ensuring sustained humanitarian access in Gaza

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty, focusing on bilateral relations and the deteriorating situation in Gaza.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers discussed regional developments and ongoing diplomatic initiatives, including recent consultative meetings among Arab and Islamic countries in New York.

The discussions centred on efforts to secure an immediate and durable ceasefire, ensure unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and promote collective measures for lasting peace in Gaza.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for these initiatives and welcomed the recent positive developments, particularly the response to Hamas’s proposed peace plan, which has raised hopes for an end to the bloodshed.

Dar also extended an invitation to his Egyptian counterpart to visit Pakistan, which Dr Abdelatty graciously accepted. Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and cooperation to achieve a just and sustainable peace in Gaza.
