Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said Pakistan would be turned into a regional investment hub through transparency, globally aligned economic policies, and swift implementation of reforms.

Chairing a high-level meeting on the economy, foreign investment, and development projects, he stressed that stabilising Pakistan’s economy on strong foundations was the government’s top priority.

The meeting reviewed in detail the overall economic situation, foreign direct investment prospects, and both ongoing and proposed development projects.

The prime minister said Pakistan would be made an attractive regional investment hub through transparency, globally aligned economic policies, and swift implementation of reforms.

“Our ongoing policy of economic and financial reforms has given a new direction to the economy, and thanks to this innovation and transparency, the country is on the path of development,” he noted.

Shehbaz Sharif directed ministries and institutions to provide all necessary facilities to international investors, adding that the private sector must play a key role in economic planning.

“Their participation should be ensured,” he emphasised.

He said the recent positive economic trends reflected renewed confidence of foreign investors in Pakistan, which the government would further consolidate by expanding trade, investment opportunities, public welfare programmes, and job creation.
