‘Freaky Friday’ sequel set for digital release on October 7, Blu-Ray on November 11

The 2003 film featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon has become a fan favourite over the years, leading to the announcement of a sequel titled Freakier Friday, set to be released digitally on October 7 and on Blu-Ray on November 11.

At the time of its release, few anticipated that the movie would develop into a cult classic, ultimately resulting in the upcoming sequel.

For Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrayed Tess Coleman, the original film holds special significance.

In a behind-the-scenes feature, she shared, “It was an unexpected moment for me professionally”.

She added, “and then it became this pivoting moment for me professionally, because the movie was such an enormous worldwide success”.

Chad Michael Murray reflects on it as a pivotal moment in his career.

“You know, 22 years ago, making a movie”, the Gilmore Girls alum recalled, “I was new to town and I got the opportunity to come and work with Jamie Lee and Lindsay and just go make a movie that hit on so many levels and so many people could identify with the story”.

Lindsay Lohan, who played Anna Coleman, echoed the positive statements of her co-stars, recalling her excitement on set.

“We were just having such a great time, all the time”, the Mean Girls actress said. “I only have really happy memories of being on set”.

All the stars fondly remember their time working on the film, which has left a lasting impact on their careers.
