Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that the Gaza peace draft released by the United States was not the same version that Islamabad had submitted after reviewing US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan.

Dar explained that Pakistan had made “some amendments without touching the fundamentals” of the plan and handed a final document to Washington.

“The draft released by the US is not the one we had sent. The elements missing from it should be there, and they will be included,” he asserted.

Outlining Pakistan’s vision, Dar said the idea was to establish a technocratic Palestinian government under the oversight of an international body.

He said that Indonesia had already pledged 25,000 troops for a Gaza special force, while Pakistan’s leadership would also decide its role.

“We proposed that any contentious issues should be taken to the UN Security Council,” he added.

The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to work with Muslim nations and the United States for a fair and durable peace for the Palestinian people.

“We are deeply grateful to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, and Indonesia,” he said, lauding their contributions to collective diplomacy.

Dar also expressed appreciation for President Trump and his team for engaging Arab and Islamic leaders in efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire, ensure the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid, and pave the way for peace and reconstruction in Gaza.

He noted that Pakistan’s leadership had held multiple rounds of discussions with President Trump, which ultimately led to a joint statement endorsed by eight Muslim countries.
