Veteran comedian Lucky Dear passes away after prolonged illness in Lahore
Renowned comedian Lucky Dear passed away in Lahore on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He was 60.
He was 40 years into a celebrated career that left an enduring mark on Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
According to family sources, the veteran performer had been receiving treatment at Mayo Hospital for lung disease, diabetes, and multiple organ failure.
Hospital officials said he slipped into a coma earlier this month as complications in his liver, lungs, and stomach worsened.
He had been under emergency ICU care, with the government covering his medical expenses.
Lucky Dear’s career spanned theatre, television, and film, where he earned a reputation for sharp wit and impeccable timing.
He appeared in hundreds of stage plays and movies, becoming a household name and a mainstay of Lahore’s vibrant theatre scene.
His performances inspired generations of comedians and entertained audiences across the country.
His funeral prayers was offered after Asr prayers today in Lahore.
