Two provincial ministers resign as rifts emerge in KP government
Following the September 27 rally in Peshawar, Internal rifts in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly have resurfaced, with two provincial cabinet ministers announcing their resignations on Tuesday.
Aqib Ullah Khan, Minister for Irrigation, and Faisal Khan Tarakai, Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education, have submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Both ministers are closely related to senior political figures — Faisal Tarakai is the brother of Shahram Tarakai, while Aqib Ullah is the brother of former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.
Speculation of a broader cabinet reshuffle had been circulating ever since the recent political rally in Peshawar. Sources indicate that more changes could follow as part of an internal reorganization within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government.
