PCB suspends NOCs for top cricketers following Asia Cup defeat
Following the cricket team’s defeat in the Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of national cricketers.
According to sources, the PCB suspended the NOCs issued to players for participation in foreign leagues — a decision that will affect cricketers, including Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, and others.
PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed has officially issued the notification suspending the NOCs.
The sources said the board has instructed all top players to participate in domestic cricket instead.
According to the notification, all previously issued NOCs for foreign leagues have been put on hold.
It is worth noting that PCB had issued NOCs for the Big Bash League to players, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Faheem Ashraf.
The decision to suspend the NOCs came just one day after Pakistan’s defeat against India in the Asia Cup T20 final.
It is worth mentioning that India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final, clinching their ninth Asia Cup title.
