10 killed, 33 injured in blast near FC headquarters in Quetta

All six terrorists, including suicide bomber, killed in a timely response by security forces

At least 10 people were killed and 33 sustained injuries after a deadly suicide bombing near the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in eastern Quetta on Tuesday.

The sound of the powerful blast was heard across the eastern area of Model Town and the surrounding localities, considered sensitive zones.

The explosion was so powerful that it shattered the windows in nearby homes and buildings.

According to security sources, the attack was carried out by the India-backed ‘Fitna Al Hindustan’ militant group.

The suicide bomber was reportedly wearing an FC uniform and was accompanied by five other terrorists.

Security forces responded swiftly to the blast, and in the ensuing operation, all six terrorists, including the suicide attacker, were killed.

Two FC personnel were injured in the gunfire and blast.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar confirmed the death of 10 people and stated that five individuals died on the spot, while the other five succumbed to injuries during treatment.

In response to the attack, emergencies were declared at Civil Hospital Quetta, BMC Hospital, and the Trauma Centre as per directives from the Health Minister and Health Secretary.

According to the health department, all consultants, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and paramedical staff were on duty at the hospitals to handle the emergency.

President Zardari pays tribute to forces

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the security forces for their successful operations, both in Quetta and in Lakki Marwat, where 17 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the forces and stressed that eliminating Fitna al-Khwarij and its networks was vital for lasting peace.

He reaffirmed that the nation stands united with its armed forces against terrorism.

PM Shehbaz vows exemplary punishment

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the FC for killing the terrorists involved in the Quetta attack.

He prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and vowed that those seeking to harm Pakistan’s integrity would face exemplary punishment.

He reiterated that the government, security forces, and the nation were determined to eradicate terrorism and Fitna al-Hindustan.

CM Bugti: Terrorists will never succeed

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the terrorists attempted to target the FC Headquarters, but the attack was foiled by the bravery of the forces.

He condemned the targeting of civilians, stating that their sacrifices would not go in vain.

He vowed that terrorists would never succeed in their nefarious designs and stressed the need for unity, resilience, and collective efforts for Pakistan’s progress.

Bugti also praised the courage of women and youth resisting extremist propaganda and announced that Quetta’s Serena Chowk would be named after Shaheed Justice Nawaz Marri.

Naqvi lauds FC’s swift action

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the FC for eliminating all six attackers, including the suicide bomber.

He lauded the courage and professionalism of the personnel, prayed for the recovery of the two injured soldiers, and said the nation takes pride in its brave forces.
