Pakistan cricket team donates Asia Cup final fee in honour of May 7 attack victims
The Pakistan cricket team has pledged their fee from the Asia Cup final against India to support the victims of the May 7 attack.
In a match held yesterday in Dubai, India triumphed over Pakistan by five wickets in a nail-biting finish to claim the tournament title.
While the Indian team declined to accept the trophy, the Pakistan cricket team chose to donate their fee to the families affected by the tragedy.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on its official X handle that the team has dedicated their fee to the innocent victims, including children and civilians, who lost their lives in the attack on May 7.
Details of the May 7 attack
On the night of May 6 and 7, Indian forces executed a cowardly assault on Pakistan, targeting innocent civilians.
This attack resulted in the deaths of 11 Pakistan Army soldiers and 40 civilians, including women and children.
In response, the Pakistan Armed Forces initiated a strong counteroffensive under the operation titled “Battle of Truth,” specifically targeting India through “Operation Bunyan un Marsoos”.
