Journalist and anchorperson, Imtiaz Mir, who had sustained injuries due to the firing on his car in Karachi’s Malir area last Sunday, died in a private hospital in Karachi.

Imtiaz Mir was targeted by unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle—a woman and a man—who opened fire on him.

Police recovered two bullet shells from the crime scene and have launched an investigation into the attack.

Imtiaz Mir had been undergoing treatment in a private hospital, fighting for his life for a week, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The incident drew widespread condemnation, with Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Additional IG Javed Alam Odho, and other political and social figures expressing deep sorrow and grief over the loss.
