Pakistan-India final braces for more drama — even before the first ball
Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the Pakistan and India final match in the Asia Cup at Dubai Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Sunday).
While the entire Asia Cup tournament — particularly the matches between Pakistan and India— has been full of controversies, yet another controversy has emerged: due to tensions between the two countries, both captains may skip the traditional trophy photoshoot before the final.
According to private TV channels, the organisers have confirmed that no such event is taking place today (Saturday), but a final decision regarding the photoshoot will be made tomorrow before the match.
Earlier, the captains of Pakistan and India avoided shaking hands during the toss and at the end of their previous matches.
Now, it is possible that both captains will also skip the pre-final photoshoot with the trophy.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani team will be competing for their third Asia Cup title, while the Indian team will be aiming for their ninth.
India defeated Pakistan in both the group stage and Super Four stage.
Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha will hold a press conference tonight at 7pm Pakistan time.
