D.I. Khan tragedy: At least 13 killed, 3 injured as truck plunges into ravine
At least 13 members of a nomadic family, including five women and a child, lost their lives when a Mazda mini-truck plunged into a deep ravine near Dana Sar Daranda on Friday.
According to rescue officials, the vehicle was traveling from Khanuzai in Balochistan to Dera Ismail Khan when its brakes failed. The truck veered off the road and fell into the gorge.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site, retrieving bodies and shifting three injured passengers to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Local residents had already transported four bodies to the hospital.
The injured were identified as 27-year-old Darya Khan, 10-year-old Yousaf, and 25-year-old Ahmed.
Authorities confirmed that among the deceased were five women and a child, highlighting the devastating toll on a single family.
