Arrest warrants issued for Gandapur in liquor, arms recovery case
An Islamabad court issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a liquor and arms recovery case after he failed to appear for the hearing on Wednesday.
The case, registered at Islamabad’s Bara Kahu police station, was heard by Senior Civil Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti.
Despite being summoned, Gandapur did not attend the proceedings, prompting the court to order his arrest.
The judicial magistrate also adjourned further hearing of the case until September 27.
Case background
The case dates back to the recovery of liquor and weapons, for which an FIR was lodged against the KP chief minister at Bara Kahu police station.
This is not the first time the court has taken such action — on July 19, the Islamabad District and Sessions Court had also issued arrest warrants in the same case, which had gone unenforced.
