First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has said that more than four million people have been impacted by the devastating floods in Punjab, stressing that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is the fastest and most effective way to provide relief to the victims.

In a post on social media platform X, Aseefa underscored that BISP is a unique state institution with verified data of affected households and the ability to reach them directly.

She cautioned that failing to use BISP to deliver aid would be nothing short of negligence.

“Over 4 million people have been impacted by the unprecedented floods in Punjab. The Benazir Income Support Programme is the fastest and most effective way to distribute relief. Not utilising one of the state’s key organisations, which has both the data and the capacity to deliver assistance, would be irresponsible,” she wrote.
