Malaria cases in Karachi rise to 2,242 this year
Authorities report at least 96 new dengue cases in September alone.
The Sindh Health Department has reported 2,242 cases of Malaria this year in Karachi, while the dengue case toll has also reached 456, with one death reported.
According to the report, most cases have been reported from Malir, where infections have increased by almost 50 per cent. From January to 21 September, the total rose to 649 cases. Korangi reported 386 malaria cases during the same period.
Across Sindh, the total number of dengue cases this year has reached 557, including 96 new cases in September alone.
The Karachi division has recorded the highest number of dengue infections, with 456 cases, of which 117 were reported in Karachi East.
