Toshakhana II case: Last two prosecution witnesses record statements
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi were presented before a court in Rawalpindi on Monday in connection with the hearing in the Toshakhana II case.
Special Central Judge Shahrukh Arjumand presided over the hearing in Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, the final two prosecution witnesses recorded their statements, including a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officer and an Assistant Director from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Defence lawyers are scheduled to cross-examine these witnesses on September 24.
With these statements, the prosecution has completed the testimony phase of the case. No further witnesses will be presented.
In total, 20 witnesses have recorded their statements in the case, while cross-examination has been completed for 18 of them.
The PTI founder’s three sisters, as well as Bushra Bibi’s sister-in-law Mehr-un-Nisa, attended the hearing.
Defence lawyers Arshad Tabrez and Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry also attended the proceedings.
The court adjourned further hearing in the case until September 24.
