Indus River flooding devastates upper Sindh, submerges villages and crops
Floodwaters from the Indus River continue to batter upper Sindh, leaving widespread destruction across multiple districts.
In Naushahro Feroze, high-level flooding submerged five villages, including a village in Moro tehsil, severing their connection with the city.
Cotton, sugarcane and other standing crops have been destroyed, while fodder for livestock has also run out.
In Ghotki, gas supply from ten wells of the OGDCL Qadirpur gas field remains suspended for the seventh consecutive day.
Meanwhile, in Kandhkot, dozens of villages are still inundated, leaving thousands stranded.
Dadu district’s riverine belt has been under water for the past ten days. In Mehar, three breaches in the Zamindara Bund have cut off hundreds of villages from land access to the town.
Further downstream, the Indus floodwaters have now reached Thatta, where dozens of villages in the katcha belt have gone under water.
Thousands of acres of farmland stand submerged, and in Yaar Muhammad Mallah village, floodwater entered homes, forcing families to flee.
