Jaffar Express denied security clearance again, passengers stranded in Jacobabad
Train to Quetta halted for the eighth time this month as authorities cite security concerns
The Jaffar Express failed to reach Quetta once again after railway authorities withheld its security clearance, officials said on Saturday.
The train, which was en route from Peshawar to Quetta, was stopped at Jacobabad station.
Railway officials said the service was suspended due to security clearance not being granted, and passengers were sent onward to Balochistan by public transport.
Authorities said that this marks the eighth time in the current month that the Jaffar Express has been halted in Jacobabad.
Passengers have expressed frustration, saying the repeated suspensions have turned travel to Quetta into a recurring ordeal.
