The Additional District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Saturday formally framed charges against Umar Hayat, the accused in the murder case of TikToker Sana Yousuf.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty, calling the allegations baseless. During the hearing, Judge Mohammad Afzal Majoka asked the accused directly: “Did you kill Sana Yousuf?”

In his response, Umar Hayat denied all charges, saying he had committed no crime and that all allegations against him were false.

The court also informed the accused that he is charged with snatching Sana Yousuf’s mobile phone, a charge he also denied.

The court later adjourned the hearing until September 25. A murder case against Umar Hayat was registered at the Sumbal Police Station.

It is worth noting that on September 13, the court had set the date for framing charges, and copies of the charge sheet had already been provided to the accused.

According to police, 22-year-old Umar Hayat allegedly broke into the home of TikToker Sana Yousuf in Islamabad and murdered her after she refused his friendship.

Following the incident, the police conducted a swift operation and arrested the suspect within 20 hours from Faisalabad.

Police claim that after his arrest, the accused confessed to killing Sana Yousuf.
