The first confirmed case of monkeypox in 2025 has been reported at Lahore’s General Hospital, where a patient named Rehmat Ali tested positive.
According to hospital officials, Ali was admitted with high fever and rashes. He has a medical history of liver transplant and had previously lost an arm in an accident.
The Medical Superintendent confirmed that the patient is receiving free medicines and all necessary treatment in the hospital’s isolation ward, which had been set up in advance for monkeypox cases.
