In an exclusive interview with a German magazine, Pakistan Army Spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry discussed the country’s long-standing role in hosting Afghan refugees, stating that Pakistan has accommodated millions over the past 40 years.

He emphasised that systematic measures have been implemented to facilitate the honorable return of these refugees, with multiple extensions granted for their entry.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), pointed out that illegal Afghan residents have been linked to terrorism and serious crimes. He noted that the primary reasons for Afghan refugees seeking asylum foreign intervention and civil war are no longer present.

Chaudhry also commented on the rising violence in India, attributing it to the increasingly extremist policies of the Indian government. He accused India of framing its internal issues as external threats and suggested that state-sponsored terrorism is being conducted against Pakistan.

He revealed that credible evidence has surfaced regarding the involvement of Indian Army officers in terrorist activities within Pakistan, and emphasised that Pakistan has repeatedly presented evidence of Indian terrorism to the United Nations. Chaudhry called on the international community to facilitate a resolution to the Kashmir issue, asserting that Indian state institutions, including the military, are being influenced by extremist ideologies.

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, highlighting the country’s sacrifices in this ongoing struggle. He noted that weapons abandoned in Afghanistan following the US withdrawal are now being utilised in terrorist activities, a concern that has also been acknowledged by the US government.

Furthermore, Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s constructive and strategic relationship with China and mentioned that the US has designated the banned Majeed Brigade as a global terrorist organisation.

He also referenced the inclusion of several deceased terrorists from Fitna-ul-Hindustan in Balochistan on the list of so-called missing persons.
