Aleema Khan, sister of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, on Wednesday strongly opposed the proposed video link trial of her brother, terming it an attempt to isolate him.

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, she said the PTI founder was never given the facility of video link when his life was under threat, but now the arrangement was being used to keep him in isolation.

Aleema Khan alleged that cases had been fabricated against the PTI founder and recalled that he continued to appear in courts in Rawalpindi and Islamabad despite security threats.

She claimed that the government’s focus under the 26th Constitutional Amendment was solely to target the PTI founder.

“We will never accept a video link trial,” she said, urging the legal fraternity to protest against the amendment.

She insisted that the move was politically motivated and part of a broader attempt to sideline the PTI leadership.
