Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has expressed strong reservations over ongoing cases against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, prison restrictions, and the government’s stance on Afghanistan.

He warned that “law has been rendered helpless, decisions are pre-written, and no one will be spared,” adding that the party would now seek solutions through resistance instead of reconciliation.

Speaking to media at Dahgal checkpost near Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Gandapur, flanked by Aleema Khan and lawyer Salman Safdar, said the cases against the PTI founder Imran Khan were baseless.

He questioned who was exerting pressure on the judiciary and demanded that the truth behind restrictions on meetings and other prohibitions be disclosed.

He alleged that efforts were underway to divide the party.

Aleema Khan, delivering the PTI founder’s message, told reporters that in one of the trials, a witness had been declared false, and such perjury should carry strict punishment.

She further claimed that the founder was being subjected not to civil but to “military trials”.

Advocate Salman Safdar added that in another case, cross-examination of witnesses had already weakened the prosecution’s stance.

He said the repeated proceedings in multiple cases amounted to a damaging “instalment-based prosecution” designed to prolong the legal ordeal.
