In the high-stakes match of the Asia Cup 2025 between the arch-rivals, India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets, chasing the target of 128 runs in just 16 overs.

Indian Captain Suryakumar Yadav made 47 runs, finishing the match in style by smashing a powerful six to Sufiyan Muqeem, while Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma added 31 runs each.

Saim Ayub took all three wickets for Pakistan, as no other bowler could manage to take a single wicket.

The high-voltage encounter turned out to be an upset for Pakistan fans, as the team could only manage to put 127 runs on board for nine wickets in the twenty overs, playing over 60 dot balls.

Sahibzada Farhaan scored 41 runs on 44 deliveries, while Shaheen Shah outshone with the bat, playing a tremendous knock of 33 runs on just 16 balls with four outreaching sixes and lifting the team’s total.

Indian bowlers didn’t allow Pakistan batters to build any partnership or gain momentum, as they continued taking wickets, while inhibiting runs.

Pakistan lost their first wicket to Hardik Pandya in the first over of the match as Saim Ayub couldn’t open his account to score any runs. Half of the Pakistani batters were sent back to the pavilion on a total of just 64 runs in 12.4 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav stole the show for India as he grabbed three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Bumrah took a couple of wickets apiece.

The atmosphere at Dubai International Cricket Stadium was electrifying as fans from both sides gathered to support their teams in this high-pressure game.

The cricket fever gripped the nation on Sunday ahead of a highly anticipated Pakistan-India clash in the Asia Cup 2025.

Both teams were in good form and had achieved success in their previous games with ease.

India, the reigning T20 world champions, entered as firm favourites to retain their Asia Cup crown.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan skipper Salman Agha had both ruled out softening their approach in what promises to be a fiery Group A contest.

Sunday’s match was the first encounter between the two countries after their military encounter in May this year.

India and Pakistan have faced each other 19 times in the Asia Cup before, with India winning 10 matches, Pakistan winning 6, and 3 matches ending without a result.
