PIA to suspend Canada flights for aircraft maintenance
National carrier grounds long-haul Boeing 777s for mandatory technical checks
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to temporarily suspend its flights to Canada later this month to carry out mandatory maintenance of its long-haul aircraft.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the airline’s Boeing 777 long-range aircraft, capable of flying up to 17 hours non-stop across the Pacific, will undergo a comprehensive three-week technical inspection, including parts replacement.
The maintenance cycle is a mandatory process every ten years.
The spokesperson added that the move is aimed at ensuring the aircraft are fully operational and reliable ahead of the expected surge in passenger traffic next month.
