Bangladesh beat Hong Kong by seven wickets to start their Asia Cup 2025 journey on Thursday at Abu Dhabi.
Batting first, Hong Kong managed 143 for seven in their 20 overs, with skipper Nizakat Khan top-scoring with 42.
Bangladesh’s bowlers kept things tight, with Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Rishad Hossain sharing two wickets each.
In reply, Bangladesh reached the target comfortably in 17.4 overs, finishing at 144 for three. Opener Litton Das played the decisive knock, striking 59 off 39 balls to anchor the chase.
The victory gives Bangladesh a strong start in Group B, while Hong Kong’s hopes of progressing to the next stage have taken a blow after this defeat.
