Six suspects killed in three alleged police encounters in Lahore
At least six suspects were killed in three separate alleged encounters with the Counter Crime Department (CCD) police in Lahore, officials said on Thursday.
According to officials, the first shootout took place in Chung when suspect Ilyas Mansha was being taken for recovery.
Police said his accomplices ambushed the CCD team, and Mansha was killed in firing by his own associates.
The second encounter occurred near Do Moriya Pul, where two suspects in custody, identified as Aslam and Jamil, were killed during an exchange of fire.
Later in the day, a third alleged encounter unfolded in Jubilee Town, Chung, in which three suspects — Irshad, Ibrahim, and Farooq — were shot dead, while two of their accomplices managed to escape.
Police have launched a search operation to track them down.
The bodies of all six suspects were shifted to the morgue for postmortem.
